This International Women’s Day Follow These Dos and Don’ts for Healthy Skin

Taking care of oneself and indulging in some TLC is what pops up the first thing in our heads when we hear about Women's Day at Arvelon. When the world celebrates International Women's Day in different ways, we dive into the nitty-gritty of skincare.

Here we’re listing some dos and don'ts to follow to excel your skincare routine and shine with brighter and healthier skin by following some basic (read: essential) skincare tips!

After going through rounds and rounds of skincare sessions with dermatologists and skincare experts around the world, we’ve got all the tea for you.

Skincare Do’s

  • Eat Greens to Stay Evergreen
  • Only a healthy body can have beautiful skin, and a healthy diet is an essential requirement for a healthy body. Make sure your diet is full of salads, fresh vegetables, and fruits. The vibrant the plate, the brighter the skin!

  • Water Is Your Elixir
  • Water detoxifies your body like nothing else. A hydrated body is essential to keep your skin cells fresh and young for years to come.

  • Third Surgical Strike
  • This is required for hidden UV rays with sunscreen all day long. We age in two ways. One is genetically inevitable aging over time and the other is photoaging (and the worst type too!). Therefore, using high-quality, broad-spectrum sunscreen will help slow down the aging process. Yes, it's possible! Remember, sunscreen is needed even on cloudy days and even when you’re inside.

  • 3 Minutes Moisturizing Rule
  • Moisturizers are essential, especially for dry and sensitive skin. According to the 3-minute rule, the moisturizer should be applied within 3 minutes of bathing or exposure to water. So keep your moisturizer in the bathroom and maximize the benefits of moisturizing.

  • Licorice Root Based Products
  • Licorice Root Extract is known to eliminate dullness, leaving your skin brighter and flawlessly glowing. The Flawless Glow Facewash thoroughly washes away dirt and other impurities, leaving your skin feeling clean, fresh & glowing.

    Skincare Sins

  • Don’t Sleep With Makeup On
  • We understand sometimes you're just tired beyond measure and don't even have the patience to remove your makeup. But that is still not an excuse to sleep with makeup on! It's the worst thing you could possibly do to your skin.

  • Say No for Excuses and Yes to Exercise
  • 40 minutes of exercise every day is mandatory to stay fresh and healthy. It's a good idea to start your day with exercise, but if you miss it or simply don't have the temperament for it, consider giving yoga a try or making morning runs a part of your daily routine.

  • CTM (Cleansing, Tone, Moisturizing) Can Be Counterproductive
  • Unlike stylists, rigorous CTM regimens are unscientific and can actually harm. Who knew, right? Using a gentle cleanser as needed to clean your face and makeup is recommended instead. Excessive use of toners can cause patchy and dry skin and can kickstart the aging process sooner than it should. The amount of moisturizer required depends on your skin type and seasonal changes. Winters may require an extra coat of moisturizer but you can skip it on hot, humid days during summer.

  • Don’t Believe Everything You Read on the Internet
  • Skincare trends have been going viral on social media every day now. But trusting them blindly is a skincare sin you don't want to commit! It is important to understand that these can potentially be hoaxes and not dermatologist-recommended. Confused about what to follow and what to scroll over? Get in touch with our skin care experts today and get the answers you need.

  • Digital Detox
  • It’s suggested that spending long hours with digital devices including mobile phones and laptops can adversely affect your skin. Consider controlling your screen time and also try to use the devices in less bright mode. Sometimes it could make all the difference!
